Creating Seed Data - Alert Customers
What is Seed Data?
SEED DATA – Used for the initial assigning of tags as well as adding new tags as time passes.
This is the simple database that your mobile RFID device will reference when assigning tags to our system.
For example: You scan tag 9847309287309856987 and tell our system that tag 9847309287309856987 is Item # 1001, the system will then populate the other information about item #1001 such as its name and warehouse location to start. Later, as part of the tag assignment process, you will be adding more data which will be covered at a later time.
How to Create Seed Data for Alert Customers
Create a list of the assets you would like to add to your seed data. Send the list to support at Alert and tell them you would like this list of item flagged as RFID assets. Once they set that in Alert all you need to do is log into the easy RFID cloud console navigate to settings and click the get seed data button. You will now see those items in the seed data tab on your computer.
At this point go to the handheld device , navigate to assign tags and press the get seed data button. Once complete your device will now have the latest list so you can begin assigning tags.
*Please note that any letters in an item number / rental class ID must be capitalized.
