Version 7 has arrived — faster, smarter, and built to connect mobile with fixed RFID systems. This release delivers our most flexible platform yet, designed to streamline your workflow, simplify training, and enable full visibility across handhelds and fixed portals.

🧠 Training Required Before Upgrading

Version 7 introduces major workflow and language customization capabilities. Because these features are not backward compatible with older versions, all users must complete a brief v7 training session before upgrading. Your training session covers:

  • Updated screen navigation and new icons
  • Workflow customization (renaming fields and statuses)
  • New mobile-to-fixed triggering process
  • Best practices for syncing between handhelds and the Cloud Console

📦 What’s New in Version 7

  • Mobile-to-Fixed Triggering: Control EasyPort™ or Impinj fixed RFID portals directly from your handheld app.
  • Customizable Workflow & Language Module: Rename fields, statuses, and quality indicators to match your operation. (Not backward compatible with older versions.)
  • Bin Location Updates: Assign tags while automatically updating location data for cleaner inventory control.
  • Smarter Reporting: New direct-link filters make it faster to locate and analyze tag events.
  • Sortable Mobile Reports: Tap any column header on your device to sort data instantly.
  • Zebra TC26 / TC56: Added auto-reconnect function to fix Bluetooth reader disconnects.
  • Fixed Reader / Antenna Integration (Coming Soon): EasyPort™ Flex Antennas and Chicago / Lapauw Ironer support in staged rollout.
  • New Integrations: Inflatable / Event Office live now — TapGoods integration launching soon.
  • Performance Optimizations: Improved sync engine and caching deliver smoother large-tag handling.

🧩 Compatibility & Supported Devices

Version 7 requires Android 10.0 or higher. For best results, use Android 13+ on one of the following supported devices:

  • Janam XR2 Handhelds (Recommended — fastest performance)
  • Zebra MC333XR / TC26 / TC56 with RFD40 or RFD90 series

💡 How to check your device model & Android version: Go to Settings → About Device. Your model and Android version will be listed under “Software Information.” If your device runs Android 9 or below, it will not support v7.

⚠️ Important Upgrade Notes

  • Training is required prior to installation for licensed users.
  • Version 7 installs as a replacement for v6 — data must be synced before upgrading.
  • Workflow changes made in v7 cannot be read by v6 devices.
  • Cloud Console and mobile users should both be updated within the same window.

If your device blocks the installation, go to Settings → Security → Allow Unknown Apps and enable installation from your browser.

🔧 Known Issues & Upcoming Features

  • Minor UI lag may appear on older Android 10–11 devices when handling large tag sets.
  • Auto-reconnect on RFD40/90 may require a manual retry on certain TC26/TC56 units.
  • Fixed reader integration (EasyPort™ Flex & Chicago / Lapauw) in progress for next update.
  • TapGoods API integration targeted for post-v7 release deployment.
