How To Update Firmware

RFD40 / RFD90 FIRMWARE UPDATE INSTRUCTIONS

STEP 1: Confirm your current firmware version by opening up 123RFID > Select the hamburger menu in the top left of the screen > Select Firmware Update and it will show you the current firmware on your device. 


STEP 2: CLICK HERE to download the firmware update. Please note that if you have not updated your firmware in sometime the system may require you to upgrade your firmware to a more recent version before you can update to the current version. 



STEP 3: Select the firmware version you want to download > Click the plus sign on the left to drop down the menu > Under Software select Download > ACCEPT AND BEGIN DOWNLOAD NOW.


STEP 4: Open 123RFID app > Select the hamburger menu in the top left of the screen > Select Firmware Update > Click SELECT FIRMWARE > Select the hamburger menu in the top left > Select Open From TC26 > Select Download > Select the firmware file you just downloaded > UPDATE FIRMWARE.



STEP 5: If you were updating from a much older version and needed to do more than one update go to the Download folder > Press down to select the firmware file until a trash can appears in the top right of the screen > Select the trash can to delete the file. You are doing this so that when you download the next firmware update file there will only be one in the folder so it will be easy to find. At this point you would repeat steps 2-4 to download and install the newest firmware update. 

STEP 6: Open the 123RFID app > Click on the hamburger menu in the top left > Select RFID > Select Region > Select USA > Select Apply.



MC3300XR FIRMWARE UPDATE INSTRUCTIONS

STEP 1: Confirm your current firmware version: Open the 123RFID app > Click the hamburger menu in the top left of the screen > Select Settings > Select General > Select Device Info and you will see the current firmware on the device. 
Please note that older devices may not have the General option. If your device does not have this option you will need to open the 123RFID app > Click the hamburger menu in the top left of the screen > Select About > Under RFID Reader where is says Module Version this is the current firmware version that you are running. 



STEP 2: CLICK HERE to download the firmware update. Drop down the menu underneath the most recent option > Select Download > Then select ACCEPT AND BEGIN DOWNLOAD NOW.


STEP 3: Open the RFID Manager app on your device > Select the firmware icon on the bottom of the screen > Select the file icon in the top right of the screen. 


STEP 4: You will see three options > Select sdcard0 > Select Download > Select the firmware file that you just downloaded. Once selected it will bring you back to the Firmware Update page > Select UPDATE.
Please note that older devices may only show two options in this case you would select Phone > Select Download > Select the firmware file that you just downloaded. Once selected it will bring you back to the Firmware Update page > Select UPDATE.

STEP 5: Once the firmware has been updated open RFID Manager back up > Select Regulatory > Select Region > Select USA > Select Apply.
