MC3300XR Firmware Update Instructions

🧭 Step 1: Check Your Current Firmware

Open the 123RFID app β†’ Hamburger menu β†’ Settings β†’ General β†’ Device Info. Your firmware version will appear under Module Version.

If β€œGeneral” is not available, open About instead and check the β€œModule Version” field.

πŸ“₯ Step 2: Download the Firmware

Click here to download the latest MC3300XR firmware from Zebra’s site. Expand the latest version, click Download, then select Accept and Begin Download Now.


Warning
Please note that sometimes the "Download" button is hidden behind the bottom bar.  As you can see from the photo, the black "Download" button is slightly showing, after checking the "I agree to and accept the above terms" box, do your best to click the top of the black box that is slightly exposed to download the firmware file.

βš™οΈ Step 3: Install Firmware via RFID Manager

Open the RFID Manager app β†’ 

🧩 Step 4: Select Firmware File

Tap the Firmware icon at the bottom β†’ Tap the File icon (top right). Select Phone β†’ Download β†’ scroll to find firmware file (Ex: MC33XXR-SAAEES00-001-R20.RFD) β†’ Tap Update. Note: This may take a few minutes.

🌎 Step 5: Set Region

After the update completes, close out and reopen 123RFID Mobile and click Settings β†’ General β†’ Device Info β†’ Firmware (check that it updated to the new number of firmware you downloaded). Then close out the app (need to close the app for next step to work).

Then open RFID Manager β†’ Tap Regulatory β†’ Region β†’ USA β†’ Apply. 



RFD40 / RFD90 Firmware Update Instructions


Follow these steps to confirm your current firmware version and update your Zebra RFD40 or RFD90 RFID reader using the 123RFID app.

🧭 Step 1: Check Your Current Firmware Version

Open the 123RFID app β†’ Tap the hamburger menu (top left) β†’ Select Firmware Update. Your current firmware version will be displayed on screen.

 

πŸ“₯ Step 2: Download the Firmware Update

Click here to access the Zebra firmware page.

If your firmware is very old, you may need to update to an intermediate version first before installing the newest release.

βš™οΈ Step 3: Begin the Update

Select your desired firmware version β†’ Click the plus sign on the left β†’ Expand the menu β†’ Under β€œSoftware,” select Download β†’ Click Accept and Begin Download Now.

πŸ”§ Step 4: Install the Firmware via 123RFID

Open the 123RFID app β†’ Hamburger menu β†’ Firmware Update β†’ Select Firmware β†’ Hamburger menu β†’ Open From TC26 β†’ Downloads β†’ Select the firmware file β†’ Tap Update Firmware.

πŸ—‘οΈ Step 5: Remove Old Firmware Files (If Needed)

If you need to install multiple updates sequentially, delete old firmware files between updates: Open your Downloads folder β†’ Press and hold the old firmware file β†’ Tap the trash can icon to remove it. Repeat Steps 2–4 to install the next version.

🌎 Step 6: Set Region

Open 123RFID β†’ Hamburger menu β†’ RFID β†’ Region β†’ Select USA β†’ Tap Apply.
