How to reprogram an RFID tag using the 123RFID app

Step 1 – Launch 123RFID Mobile

  1. From the MC3330xR Home screen, tap Apps or swipe up to see installed apps.

  2. Open 123RFID Mobile.

  3. Confirm the reader is active (the app will show connection status at the top).


Step 2 – Inventory the Tags
  1. Tap Inventory to start scanning.( 3 check marks followed by 3 lines)
 
2. Hold the reader near the tags to detect them
3.Look for the tag(s) showing the duplicate EPC.
4.Tap on the EPC you wish to reprogram to highlight it.



Step 3 – Prepare to Write a New EPC



1. From the main screen, tap the Access Operations icon or menu (3 dots in upper right corner).

2. Choose Write as your operation.

3. In Memory Bank, select EPC.

4. Set Word Pointer to 2 (this skips the PC bits and CRC).

5. Enter the new unique EPC value in the Data field.

6. Make sure it’s a hexadecimal string (e.g., 300833B2DDD9014000000002).

7. If your tags are password-protected, enter the Access Password (often 00000000 by default)




Step 4 – Write the EPC

1. Hold the reader directly over a single tag to avoid programming multiple tags at once.

2.Tap Execute (or Write) to perform the write operation.

3. The app will confirm success or display any errors.




Step 5 – Verify the New EPC

1. Return to Inventory.

2. Scan again.

3. Confirm the tag now reports the new EPC number.



 

Important Tips


One tag at a time: Always isolate the tag you are reprogramming.

Record your EPCs: Keep a list of new EPCs assigned.

Strong read range: Hold the reader 2–6 inches from the tag for best results.

There is no way to adjust the  power level so try to do in area with no other tags within 10 feet
